The Qlasp is part of a new line of Sony headphones called Piiq. Sony sent over the Giiq for me to check out and while these are not a high end headphone (and at $50 you wouldn’t expect them to be) they do have a better sound than the pair Skullcandy sells at the same price. The features I like most about the Giiq are the high quality cable, the extra long cable, the gold plated headphone jack and how lightweight they are.
Summer came late in Salt Lake City this year and while we had a handful of 100°+ days it appears that the days are getting shorter and the nights a little cooler. This mix is to remind us of those beautiful days and also to prepare us for the impending Fall. I hope you enjoy it.

If you asked me any time in the last two years who my favorite band is I would say No Age. When Weirdo Rippers first came out I wasn’t quite up to their speed and it mostly went over my head. By the time Nouns was released I was ready and I played that record probably more than any other released in the last decade. It is perfect. Going back to Weirdo Rippers after Nouns blew my mind I realize I was just late to the game. It is almost as good. No Age are set to release their third full length Everything in Between on September 28 via Sub Pop. To say my expectations are high would be understatement of the year.
The band has just released the first bit of music from the album, my impression is still forming but the electronics sound great immediately: No Age – Glitter
When I spoke with Dean at SXSW I asked what the first single was going to be and he said “I have no clue, the whole fucking thing sounds like a single.” I love the thought of a poppy No Age. It feels so at odds with what you would expect from the band but from the first time I fell in love with Nouns I said that this band could be our generations Nirvana. They just may be.
One of my favorite songs of the year off one of my favorite albums of the year Titus brought “A More Perfect Union” to Jimmy Fallon and sounded as tight as ever. Love this band.
I’m not as into this track as I am “Black Leather Gloves” but I am excited to hear more from this group who are part Zola Jesus, part Siouxsie and two parts evil.
Oddly there seem to be a few versions of this video floating around. Today there was a version that was 2:56 in length but here is an extended version released mid-June. The band released a visual accompaniment to the album and for whatever reason an edited version of that release is being associated with the track. This is the full version, same length as the album version.
